Race Timing Ops, part time for Squamish rec-tech company

Rec-tech company, Spruce Race Timing is hiring for Race Timing Ops position. We time mountain adventure races including mountain biking and running. We are hiring for spring and require 20 hours per event @ $20/h. Half the time will be spent in advance of the event, preparing in Squamish. The other half on-site at the race location. You will travel to races, which usually take place on weekends. In 2016 we had 1-2 races per month between April and September. There are a number of administrative and customer service tasks involved in this role and training will be provided. We're looking for someone with leadership qualities and attention to detail. This is an office job and an outdoor job!

Duties:

  • Communicate with race organizers and liaise with Spruce Race Timing directors
  • Prepare for races – set up and test equipment
  • Manage timing-support volunteers on day of race
  • Help prepare race results for event organizer

Requirements:

  • Must have own transportation
  • Must have driver's' abstract

  • An experienced leader
  • Cool under pressure; able to focus in a distracting environment on race day
  • Technically inclined – not a programmer but is comfortable using technology and working on a computer
